Answered a question on Hacker News about using ChatGPT for programming tasks with a bunch of my own examples... https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37126182#37127206

Comments so far include "If someone on my team was doing things this unusually they’d probably be let go" and "sorry but these examples are not impressive at all and by no means a representative of any serious programmer's workload"

A lot of people out there are absolutely determined not to take the practical utility of this stuff seriously!

I predicted The Last Interface in 1979 in this paper.

My View on A.I. — The Ezra Klein Show

This is something a bit different: Not an interview, but a commentary of my own. We’ve done a lot of shows on A.I. of late, and there are more to come. On Tuesday, GPT-4 was released, and its capabilities are stunning, and in some cases, chilling. More on that in Tuesday’s episode. But I wanted to take a moment to talk through my own views on A.I. and how I’ve arrived at them. I’ve come to believe that we’re in a potentially brief interregnum before the pace of change accelerates to a rate that is far faster than is safe for society. Here’s why. Column: “This Changes Everything” by Ezra Klein Episode Recommendations: Sam Altman on the A.I. revolution Brian Christian on the alignment problem Gary Marcus on the case for A.I. skepticism Ted Chiang on what humans really fear about A.I. @edwellbrook that would be awesome - I’ll DM my email over. Thank you!
@edwellbrook hey Ed! Just discovered Doppler and excited to try it out. Was wondering if you have any plans to add ability to Cast to Google Speakers. I have a whole bunch of Nest speakers I’d love to use with it. Cheers!
