Yesterday Bitcoin mining company Luxor mined the largest block ever, containing almost exactly 4MB of data. Only 63 transactions could fit into the block, as the NFT used up the rest of the available space
The carbon footprint: ~888 metric tons of CO2, equivalent to the per passenger carbon footprint of taking a flight from New York to Tokyo and back - 466 times
Wrapped up the week by merging a pretty exciting PR, which adds a new “Letterbox” image transform mode!
I’ve been a little reluctant to give this the green light because it feels like a feature that should’ve been a CSS property. But it turns out email clients are still mostly stuck in the ’90s so here we are.
Anyway, really happy with how it turned out, so nice work Mr. Hanson!
