luck has gone bad again, first I hit a seemingly bad PCB, the pico works but none of the buttons on the board. next I break off a keycap in a switch again (one button didn't work, so I expected a bent pin). the switch pins look fine so must be the socket. but I already screwed the case together so now I gotta undo it. I did like 3 or 4 full builds before I had any issues but it's all going south now.
Got the chunk out! I welded the side of the keycap to the chunk stuck inside with my soldering iron, let it cool a few seconds, and was able to pull it out. I wasn't sure if that would work or if it'd just snap again. Very cool. I'll scrap the cap, but now I can reuse the switch.
apparently keycaps breaking off in the switch is the new broken pin
what the... emoji react picker SUPER busted in icecat. good lord. actually it might just be unicode emoji in general not displaying right.
That makes 4 done now, more or less. I have one more planned in the near future and then I'm out of PCBs. May or may not order more depending on how the last build goes.
