@NigelTufnel It was a bummer and cemented my hatred of cassettes as a format—even aside from stuff like this, they can't maintain a constant speed from one end of a tape to the other! If you lived on Planet Earth at the time, you will have heard my scream when I was told that the youngs were making them "hip" again. :-) As I've been working thru the transfers of my master tapes, I’ve gotten good at using residual 60Hz hum to get the speed/pitch back to what was originally recorded.

@NigelTufnel Congrats! The only time I've heard myself on the radio was in the days of cassettes and the speed discrepancy between the machine it was recorded on and the one at the station made us start to sound like the Chipmunks. :-)

Also: I've never seen a pic of David Ellison before but he looks like the sort of person who always has his hand up, never has the right answer and learns nothing from it. The Devo guy looks smarter...and like he'd have your back in a bar fight, but tell you later what an idiot you are. :-)
