@thegibson I get the feeling you're not talking about the Otep version... alternatively I really don't know who I am.
@cypnk time is a curious concept. I would count inventions made only within the last 80-100 years as modern...
They are still really cool, though.

We pay to Steam, Netflix, Amazon prime, Spotify. But not to Wikipedia, Archive.org, Librivox, Project Gutenberg, for our favourite Linux distro.

The huge asymmetry between corporate and community has not emerged naturally. It is a product of our choices of not supporting community oriented projects.

The short conveniences vs the long-term good. We always chose the former.

In face of surveillance capitalism, we must and must change.

I just spent hours debugging my kubernetes ingress rules.
Only to finally have it dawn on me that I had not defined the service (which I retrospect was pretty much what the error message said all along).
@drwho it can. That part is manageable, though not exactly easy. But using the fun bits, like the build in wifi, is hard verging on not there yet.
The problem here is really that I cannot find the time to figure out how to fix it. Let alone to actually fix it.
Hmmm I see quite a few accounts with a "only local follows" policy. Which strikes me as odd for a federated network.
And frankly actively hostile to people running personal instances (which for the record does not include me).
@drwho do I ever know that feeling...
It's one of the reasons I really want #rustlang on my small hardware projects. However, I have not yet wrapped my around getting rust on the esp32.

Can we please, please – PLEASE! not make the nonsensical US date format month/day/year the default in applications? 🤦‍♂️

PRE 👏 TTY 👏 PLEASE

And to all users of that format: it makes no sense, it's counter-intuitive, it makes collaboration frustrating, it introduces inconsistencies and errors... Just stop. Please. Use international standards.
(And don't get me started on your other units of weights, volumes and distances. Bloody hell.)

Boost if I'm right.

Do you remember when Firefox had a builtin RSS reader, webpages had a subscribe button..

I miss those days.
