in other PS1 games it's just annoying.
in Silent Hill, i know Harry is just a Confused Man trying to do anything at all in literal hell. the wonky controls helps communicate that to me.
i finished #SilentHill a few days ago and it's the first #videogame i've played that uses the wonky #PS1 controls as part of the experience of the game.
