who knew that if you give people the ability to put a preferred name on their profile that some would fill that field with profanity! Gets awkward when staff have to address them or they get mail in those names. Never even thought of it but not have to exclude words.

@mcourcel yep, have one of those too. still like it although voice dream has better voices and actually doesn't need that weird software to load books onto it
@mcourcel I still have one but haven't used it in years. not sure any screen reader supports it now.
@mcourcel and there is still a synthesizer category and the evaluation form still asks about external speech synthesizers as an option for this equipment. wonder if you can buy one at all. maybe a tripple talk usb?
@mcourcel I can't believe they charge this much for this. maybe worth a hundred bucks if you stretch it.
@mcourcel they really are. I think window-eyes is still on the authorized equipment list. it hasn't existed since 2017 or 2018 but you still might be able to get it somewhere.
doing an evaluation of the orcam read for including in a funding program. for the first time, I am suggesting that a device not be funded. very much not worth the price imho. Also, documentation is some of the worst I have seen.
