Back from vacation, and already feeling the pinch of not having the time every day to do what I want to do. BUT - obviously - I can always bitch about it!
I had a good time being interviewed for the upcoming Traveller RPG online MayDay! celebration tonight. Looking forward to seeing the results and all the other interviews.
Back from a week of vacation. Work in the morning. I had a reasonably good time and I'm not refreshed at all. If anything I'm more exhausted then when I left, LOL. I guess that's just how it's going to be.
During our recent vacation we ate at restaurants a lot. Pretty much always. Only one of them was peaceful enough to have a conversation. The others all had TVs blasting, music blasting, and loud-ass people. Americans (and maybe others) are terrified of silence - of the idea of being alone with their own thoughts. Or maybe it's just weird that I like quiet.
It's going to be a busy week. Just got an allergy shot. Last week they ramped them up to a new stronger serum. It hit hard today, almost like it if full of what I'm allergic to! I am wiped out! Time change + congestion and not good sleep didn't help.
Time change today. We got up, let the dog go pee, then we went right back to bed and he jumped up with us. Sleep "late", got up, had coffee. Gonna be a chill day. Just what I need.
If you genuinely believed you were 18 months from building a superintelligence that could cure cancer, you probably wouldn't pivot the entire company to horny chatbots. But I'm just a person with priorities. Maybe the path to solving death really does go through AI girlfriends. I don't have an MBA.

The more I think about it the more disturbing @protonprivacy's justification for handing over credit card data becomes.

By their reasoning, anyone who speaks out against our government is default suspicious and associated with crimes that may or may not have even happened.

Encrypt whatever you want, but if this is Proton's politics, then their tools are completely unsafe for anyone who dare question the US government.

In I guess the early 2000s you saw a lot of books like the 4 hour work week and other bullshit like that, which advocated essentially doing nothing of real value and setting up systems that parasitically suck money out the system. I see all of this as the continuation of that kind of "I'm so smart" tech bro scumbag mindset.
