may the 3rd be with you.

reminder:
you have until feb 26th to download any kindle book files locally to a pc. after that date, amazon says customers will no longer have downloadable access to any purchased e-books. everything will be cloud-based.

if there are any ebooks on amazon worth a buy to you, then now is the time to get them and download the files before the shutoff date.

@thedarktangent however i think the solar-powered outdoor dedicated lora nodes might be a more out of the box solution. they're pretty cool with lower effort.

@thedarktangent i think hypothetically both ways can be done (poe or bluetooth/wifi & usb c) . it depends on implementation - on what device hw you choose dictates what options & methods there are.

if power over ethernet is a must for the sake of a single cable, an sbc like a raspberry pi with a poe hat and waveshare lora board & running a debian-based distro like raspberry pi os / raspbian with a meshtasticd (daemon) might be one way. then it's a matter of remote mgmnt w/o necessarily the use of mqtt. otherwise something in the realm of home assistant w/ mqtt would be another way.

doing it with bluetooth / wifi & usb c is also doable with soecific dedicated lora boards, but may contend with the physical area of signal interference such as from roof shingles & building wall insulation where their heat insulation / reflective properties also affect rf tx.

Set up and configure Meshtastic on Linux-native devices using the meshtasticd binary.

now that a typical pre-made bad usb rickroll hijack script demo gets hijacked by youtube ads, it should probably be renamed to bad usb youtube ads hijack.

the script can be modified further with a timer and screen size calculator to determine where and when the skip button will appear while zeroing out mouse cursor position... but low effort means good enough.

The #DefCon 25 and 26 talks and village videos have been reencodes to AV1 format and updated torrents released! That means you should be able to stream them in browser without having to download them first like with HEVC. https://media.defcon.org

Next up continuing to collect content from DC32.

@ReloadRtr thank you for the cool challenge coin. 👍
@malwaretech windows

Ok. So out of the 101 European hosting companies I looked at today who claim to provide a BGP feed, only 13 meet the following basic competence criteria:

- IPv6 (on their website and MX)
- have their own MXs (not gmail or o365)
- are not hiding behind Cloudflare or equivalent
- are not just Hetzner or OVH in a trenchcoat
- their website is up at present and does not have a certificate error

That whittled the list down pretty quickly.

Two of the 13 are in countries at war (Ukraine, Russia)...

@deviantollam just curious if you took enovid this year?
