For the past few years, I've been using a custom #xojo app to publish my website (utilware.com) from markdown files. Started playing with Obsidian Publish recently, and with a few CSS tweaks, I'm seriously considering switching.

Why does Google Drive take so incredibly long to zip before downloading? I have a folder of 645 .rtf files, and it takes 10~15 seconds for Google to zip them. MacOS takes <1 sec for both zipping and unzipping.
@dcseifert I mean, dude, it's doooooope. And it makes you splay your fingers across the touchscreen because the track pad is bad.
@dcseifert oh and get a wireless one, despite the potential for lag. Having to physically connect the phone got annoying very quickly, especially when not using it on a desk.
@dcseifert true to form, I'm currently looking up the lapdock, alongside writing this, on my Fold.
Dopesplay 14.1. While overall it's a serviceable product, here are things that led to the return:
- very finicky about which chargers would actually charge it
- touchpad was twitchy, like an older Windows laptop
- can't click and drag; have to tap and drag which is ... a drag
- iirc couldn't plug in two USB-C devices at once, so I couldn't pull photos from my DSLR directly to an external drive
@dcseifert Great reads! Speaking of Dex, I used just my Fold 4 and a lapdock for a 3+ week photography tour of Central Asia and it (plus the DSLR) was all I needed. No laptop. (Unfortunately ended up returning the lapdock because of various issues)
@dcseifert I didn't realize that you're a fellow Fold user. You might enjoy my fairly detailed writeup on what led me to get a Fold and my experiences with it - https://utilware.com/galaxy-fold.html

Best mental health boost this week: Unchecking "show inline predictive text" in Settings under Sonoma. Nothing wrecks my train of thought more than the computer trying to guess what I'm going to say next. It's like when you're talking with someone who is always finishing your sentences, but incorrectly.
