aevaI don't entirely mind the idea of a LLM programming tool running while I work, so long as it is completely powerless to do anything at all, which includes forbidding it from making suggestions. I am more productive when there is a captive entity watching in horror as I slowly and carefully place every block into the square hole. My rubber duck also works fine for this, however.

He and his fellow Japanese Americans guardsmen were imprisoned for days in a brig, incommunicado, without a clue what was happening, until a local white officer intervened and white plantation owners vouched for them as loyal US citizens born and raised on O'ahu. He would later volunteer and serve in Europe in the segregated "Purple Heart Battalion" -- the 100th Battalion of the segregated 442nd Regimental Combat Team - the most decorated unit of its size in US Army history. He loved a nation that criminalized him for his race.

AI6YR BenThey locked this firefighter up for FOUR WEEKS without due process (finally released). He had proper paperwork and status to work in the US--visa being processed, he was contributing to helping fight fires in Washington. He was ONLY released because of legal action.

Oregon firefighter Rigoberto Hernandez was released from ICE detention in Tacoma after immigration officials dismissed his removal proceedings. He was arrested while fighting a wildfire.
I’m not sure what’s the worst. The impending doom of ignorant governments going all in on genAI, the impending doom of humans being replaced by less competent genAI, or normies thinking they are as technically competent as me simply because they can use genAI - and me having to live in that reality.
My 11yo daughter gave me a logic puzzle she had made on a whim and it was pretty good. So I gave her my copy of To Mock a Mockingbird.

We’ve recently decided to go full Swift/SwiftUI on the Apple side of our application. Not out of dissatisfaction of Flutter as much as more closely following Apple idioms.
However, Flutter’s material feels very Android and Dart is a delightful language (especially after v3 and 3.1). Even though we’re doing two codebases now, which negates the primary appeal of Flutter, I’m inclined to still use Flutter for Android.
