I've found the perfect way to make #rstats programmers scream in existential terror. Behold zero-indexed R!

Redefining reality with <15 lines of code is so hot right now.

Now watch as I calmly refer to v[0] while maintaining direct eye contact.

Hello Masto. I'm looking for a free online course for #rstats beginners, something in mind ?
As far as I’m concerned, #webr and #shinylive is indistinguishable from magic. I can’t believe that since first installing #quarto-webr a few hours ago till now, I’ve gotten a relatively complicated #shinyapp exported, deployed, and running serverless. This is magic. #rstats

I gave a talk last year on getting started with APIs for data scientists. For some reason, I've only just got round to posting it on my blog.

New Article Alert! Reconsidering Sampling and Costs for Face-to-Face Surveys in the 21st Century by J Michael Brick, Tammy Cook, Jill M DeMatteis, Brad Edwards, Ryan Hubbard, Marcelo Simas In this Article "This research reexamines multistage sample designs, taking into account major changes in both resources and data collection costs that have taken place since the original work on sampling in the United States was undertaken." #research #statistics https://doi.org/10.1093/jssam/smae009

Just had a good idea for a #QuartoPub helper: you could read the typography elements from a _brand.yml file and then use the officer package to generate a reference document that uses those styles.

Has anyone already attempted this? Is there an easier way to do something similar?

Not automatic but could work to get more consistent styles when working with both Word and Typst PDF outputs.

We need Mastodon or something like it more than ever now; but we also need something better than Mastodon as it currently exists
Can someone tell me how easy it currently is to maintain packages with rust code on CRAN #rstats ? What are the downsides?
