I am an experimental social psychologist at the University of Trier. I investigate cognitive conflicts (especially ambivalence), stress, and threat, and have a special interest in non-sustainable behaviors, such as eating meat and wasting food. I also like science communication.

In our preprint, we introduce the Model of Ambivalent Choice and Dissonant Commitment (AC/DC model). The AC/DC model suggests that people who are more ambivalent before a decision may experience more dissonance after making a decision - depending on how they arrived at that decision. However, if people can justify their dissonant decisions, they may be able to resolve their ambivalence.
