Yesterday's sky was spectacular.
Even saw a Phoenix rising into the sky, it's smoke trails leading me towards 2026.
It dared me to fly, too.
Here's to us surviving the flames of change and moreso to a resurrection that may grow from it.

This week, the #Python Software Foundation rejected a $1.5MM NSF grant, due to a requirement that the PSF abandon diversity work.

CloudFlare saved the Internet Archive servers from DDOS attack yesterday
The max rate of this DDOS attack was 525 Gbps (44.93 Mpps) of a "TCP flood."
The Internet Archive does not have enough bandwidth to fend off that kind of attack.

DDOS attacks are coming more frequently.
We are in a war of attrition for our souls. The cost of war is high, but the cost of defeat is insurmountable.
Therefore, every day demands resistance. Tyranny pulls us inward, inch by inch. The seduction of small changes and small compromises are what compromise us all.
Be stingy. Refuse to give an inch. Make them do a mile's worth of work just to pull it out of your hands. Make your freedom a price too high to buy.
It's the small, everyday choices that will dictate the outcome.
Freedom will live forever; even though we won't.
Use it and a part of you will live on, too. Like waves made from the impression upon a pond, you will reflect your ripples for all time.
A part of you will be alive. A part of us will be, too.

It is indeed overwhelming thinking about how we are going to climb out of this sinkhole.

I really can't believe that data has not left the treasury at this point and is not already 'in the ether', but this is a start. Even a shallow victory is enormous for us.
Like raindrops, we need to keep filling up the bucket with things like this. We will end them they way they are trying to end us -- not in one big blow, but a "death by a thousand cuts'.
This is a war of attrition, and as long as we can keep it that way, we have real leverage against them.
