Was watching the video for The Cure's "Let's Go To Bed" and the banners visible during the line "another girl, another name" are all variations of Mary, which of course is the name of Robert Smith's high school sweetheart and eventual wife to this day. Have to assume that was an intentional homage.
I love how many of the comments on this video aren't in English https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzxJ5YvYfx4

Larry Blackmon from Cameo was drummer, bandleader, and vocalist, but as far as I know he only really became lead vocalist in their later years where he wasn't drumming
People who are both great drummers and great lead singers and who can do both at the same time are rare and magical. I can't think of too many of them but I wonder if @golikehellmachine has some good examples. I always think of Karen Carpenter
I've been thinking about the idea of socialism as a natural outgrowth of or successor to liberalism -- that liberal ideals of liberty, equality, and democracy could lead toward social democracy without any necessary influence from Marxism. Has anybody written about this? It's been on my mind since Sanders explicitly described his socialism as the fulfillment of the New Deal promise.
