Movie 14: Send Help.

Glad to see Sam Raimi cooking again. Gorey, cathartic, and crazy fun.

A ★★★½ review of Send Help (2026)

What a blast! The sort of campy fun that only Sam Raimi can cook. Extra fun to see this with my sister squirming and screaming at all the gory stuff.

Movie 13: No Other Choice.

Already know this will be amongst my favorites of the year. Entirely brilliant.

A ★★★★★ review of No Other Choice (2025)

A visual delight - can’t remember the last time I had so much fun with the camera stunts on a film. Funny and twice as dark. A killer mix perfectly blended by Park Chan-Wook.

Movie 12: The Wrecking Crew.

Decent-ish straight-to-streaming action romp.

A ★★★ review of The Wrecking Crew (2026)

A decent straight-to-streamer with some bloody crazy graphical death scenes. Nice to see Frankie Adams!

Movie 11: Hedda

A diabolical Shiva Baby meets Bridgerton. Another Nia DaCosta gem.

A ★★★★ review of Hedda (2025)

Tessa Thompson and Nina Hoss forever. That shot of Hedda closing in on Eileen when she arrives at the party was wonderful.

Movie 10: Hamnet

Beautiful and heart-wrecking. https://boxd.it/cNmOWv

A ★★★★½ review of Hamnet (2025)

devastating and beautiful exploration of grief and the communal connection and cathartic miracles of art Jesse Buckley gave it all and in return she should receive praise eternal the kid was superb as well the score felt sparse yet it elevated every moment when it was present the ending demolished my heart but hearing the emotion from everyone else in the cinema at the same time made it swell as well - I can’t help but wonder what the impact would have been if such an immediately recognizable piece of tearjerker music wouldn’t have been used
