I work with mac and linux - I also write the odd app or two

going to Canada later in the year to explore the rockies and other areas on a mostly self paced tour. should I pack a camera?
@zoocoup "claude, write me an app for ios that displays an image of a green checkmark. Upload to the app store in the security category and sell it for $20 a pop"

Security workshop and we got marked down for not having AV on iOS devices.

like..... I'm not saying it's impossible but if you're smart enough to compile and side load a malicious app you're dumb enough to be inflicted with malware.

Gosh, I wonder if there's any way I can use AI with this PDF of a bookseller's catalog.
@decryption @NanoRaptor Anything can happen. NMA has a 1955 FJ Holden. Someone drove it around for 25 years and now it's in a museum. Beats trying to flog it off on facebook marketplace I guess.
@tbridge "the neo has a great screen but the requirement to be permanently connected to power and lack of attached keyboard and trackpad is a concern for a laptop. Also the screen wobbles when i put it on my lap"

"Healthy people cost less.
Educated people contribute more.
Housed people are more stable.

...in a healthy society there are no "undeserving".
There are just people."

@tbridge good writeup and echos my experience. Regarding the "Tom's MacBook" comment, if you jump into ABM and filter on device, the Neo is listed as a varient of MacBook along with the OG and 12", not at its own thing like the air or pro. My head canon therefore tells me this is apples answer to the "why dont apple put an apple silicon chip in the 12" macbook" question.

Apple's new MacBook Neo is a solid budget performer for the Apple-focused experience. What was it like to spend a week with this low-cost entrant into Apple's lineup? It's not perfect, but for many job roles, it's the exact tool for the job. We're going to buy a lot of these over the next few years.
