Embedded-systems-adjacent jack of all tiers, left-swerving but not as active as I should be (wip). Born in the late 20th century, at 350 ppm.

Chronic dabbler. I have many more instruments than I can play well, more knitting needles than finished pieces, and more plants than my brain can care for.

Somewere in the Bermuda triangle of non-binary, agender, and genderfluid, but mostly look like a guy with long hair and occasionally nail polish.

oh, ominous as in "omen", huh. Omenous. Omenful? Omantic?

Realized I'm not really using my smartwatch for smartwatch things and got the battery of my old analog watch replaced.

Downsides: not safe for the lab at work, no day-of-month (both fixable with other watches, yes).
Upsides: never notifies me of anything, a little ritual to sync the clock every now and then, thinner and less in the way.

That last, one, really. I noticed I was always taking my watch off for comfort and now I don't anymore?

Hey what's the trick to stop involuntarily rehearsing angry conversations?

🤦🏿‍♂️Actually, nevermind.

Why is everything like this?

The author supposedly went on an anti-woke, right-wing podcast to promote the movie while trashing other books and movies that do have a "woke" message or that have inclusive representation? But... why?

Why was that necessary?

Conventional commit format sucks. What you really want is to use git trailers. The subject line of a commit message is PRIME real estate, and shouldn't be wasted on tools

A collective devoted to the craft of software engineering where expertise is transmuted into joy.

Additional problem: having to put speakers everywhere so the doors make the right creaky and hissing noises.
Idly wondering how much trouble it'd be to work replicas of sci-fi corridors into a livable home. A nice carpeted Enterprise hallway, an ugly concrete SGC one, a crinkly organic Moya (1812!). Suppose the trouble would be connecting everything.
Finally got a print job to the printer, which then started at page 1 instead of 61, and ... hung around page 4. What the fuck is happening. Printers love me, this never happens!
Firefox eventually got to the print dialog, then Not Responding for a bit when I told it to print, and the printer didn't receive the job. I think my document might be cursed this time.

It's a shame we never figured out how to make a computer do two things at the same time.
