Embedded-systems-adjacent jack of all tiers, left-swerving but not as active as I should be (wip). Born in the late 20th century, at 350 ppm.

Chronic dabbler. I have many more instruments than I can play well, more knitting needles than finished pieces, and more plants than my brain can care for.

Somewere in the Bermuda triangle of non-binary, agender, and genderfluid, but mostly look like a guy with long hair and occasionally nail polish.

looking up that old toote reminded me @finn (thanks!) suggested I check out the devs' previous game which, it turns out, is also good but completely different (despite Cobalt Core borrowing a lot from it)

When I imagine having to find work that isn't software development I draw a blank. I'm not sure I'm capable of doing something I don't enjoy all damn week.

Been dealing with the mess left by an unhoused person who's using our stairwell as a toilet and hello, complicated feelings.

The latest episode of @RemapRadio has a bunch of people writing in about LLM use at their work and it just makes me so angry, frustrated, and scared to hear about people being required to demonstrate they're using LLMs during performance reviews and job interviews.

Can't wait for this fucking hype to catch fire and die.

Getting back into Cobalt Core for a bit - fell off quickly last time for whatever reason - and it's still good (better, now that I have more characters and ships to mess with),

but I wish this game had an undo. I'm clumsy sometimes and hit ZR instead of R (moving the wrong row of objects), or move two spaces when I should've done something after the first, and that can ruin a run!

Attached: 1 image Cobalt Core is a very cute roguelike deckbuilder with FTL-flavoured art and some neat positioning mechanics. Feel like I might stick with this one for a while!

50 years on and space travel has become the techno utopia we have always wanted, as summed up in this quote from NASA's Artemis II livestream
Just got a "hey wanna create a passkey" popup while logging in to PayPal. I'm sure it's useful but at this point I know just enough about them to be worried I'll accidentally lock myself out of everything forever.
I'm updating a document that an intern wrote in 2018 and it turns out he forgot to push his changes to the network drive after the initial upload, so it's going to be a lazy Friday recreating all that. It's a glamorous life.

Hey, so a PDF can embed other PDFs sort of like a picture. I have a PDF that does that. Is there a way to get the original data for the embedded PDF out?

pdfimages doesn't recognize it as an image, pdfdetach doesn't see it as an attachment, so I'm afraid the embedded PDF gets merged into the document which would make this impossible

Trying Scribus next, worst case I can crop the dang thing out nm scribus with "import as text" mangles it, just gonna recreate this diagram I guess

My children spend their nights in the cold, with rain coming in as if we have no shelter 🌧️😢
The tent is worn out and no longer livable, and I need a place to protect my children from rain, cold, rodents, and insects 🐀🪲😔

hey when you come up with a protocol that you hope will be used for a long time, consider not using clever values like 0xDA for data frames and 0xAC for acknowledgement frames
