We need to stop taking anyone seriously, that tell us to "tolerate" people who want to take away other people's civil rights. That's not what tolerance is.
PDX Rally in solidarity to STOP COP CITY! Tomorrow March.9th @/3PM - Waterfront 🌲🖤

Messages in massive text being projected on the wall of DeKalb county jail rn.

The support of forest defenders charged with domestic terrorism for their opposition to Cop City in Atlanta is incredibly moving. DROP THE MOTHERFUCKING CHARGES. Love and fury from Portland

"The Great Replacement Bro is coming here to recruit on March 14, on behalf of an organization openly hostile to education as it exists, and hostile to UC Davis education in specific. There is no moral defense for this. And the hand-wringing legalistic requirement… doesn’t exist. It is worth recalling that confronting Yiannopoulos and Spencer would, it was widely said at the time, play right into their hands, granting them free publicity, free clicks. We know now that the ethical and uncompromising decision to chase them off campus was instead part of a sequence that effectively ended the political careers of both. History is educational that way. And this is a university after all. Perhaps it is time to teach Charlie Kirk a lesson."

“It’s collective punishment. The police are trying to establish a de-facto norm that anyone who associates with a political movement will be attacked and charged for the actions of any other supporter of that movement,” said Marlon Kautz, an Atlanta-based organizer with the Atlanta Solidarity Fund, which provides bail funds and legal support to protesters targeted for involvement in social movements, including against Cop City.

Gods, I hate using that word about us.

But, here we are. They're calling for it openly now. Which means it's a bit late for this advice, but better late than never.

Get to know your local trans groups. Get into them. Make the point that you want as many committed allies as possible, so look for links to Black Lives Matter, Black Panthers, antifa groups, abortion clinic protectors, people who are used to putting their bodies on the line for their beliefs. Be creative.

Get tight with them, so you have unexpected numbers and allies the fash won't know about yet. Support their struggle as they support yours. You're working for your life, now, time to put aside your lingering racism or misogynoir or "abortion is icky" feelings. Your liberation is intimately tied to theirs.

Chains of movement will set up, helping move people to the Canadian and Mexican borders. These chains will form more easily, the more groups we can involve in the struggle.

Canadians and Mexicans, it's our time to step up. We need to be arranging a set of crash pads for people, places to stay while their asylum claims are adjudicated, or where they can ride out the storm in safety. We need to be arranging transport for people arriving at the border or at airports, and getting them to a safe space.

I'm not kidding. I'm not being hyperbolic. These are practical important things we will need to be doing in the next few years. Start now. Today. Reach out to that trans group who've always seemed too radical before. They're who you need now.

If there are no trans groups in your area, what are you waiting for? Start one. Ask for help from other activist groups on getting the word out to build membership.

This isn't a drill anymore. It's time to get organizing and prepare. Sensibly. You're not going to fight off the US government. Be ready to run. Pack a go bag. Your life is the most important thing you have. Don't throw it away.

Good luck.

Fight to protect our trans neighbors.

Literally fight, if need be. This is exactly the cultural emergency we were all afraid of. Well, the time to worry has passed. It's here. So let's ditch fear and get *pissed off.*

Wake up to the fact that you may find yourself between the weapons of our own homegrown fascists and the bodies of your friends, your neighbors, your kids, yourself. Make plans to hide people, to get them out of town, depending on where you live. Talk to trusted friends who can help elsewhere and discuss how you might collaborate to railroad your neighbors to safety if they ask.

And speak up to these murderous fucks who talk about eradication of human beings in the very same breath as they deny that those humans exist.

Get ready.
