Maple cookie fans: Hanamasa has these on sale this weekend for 198円 (and they're vegan)

There's something bothering me about this picture, but I can't quite place it.

Today's haul from the Tokyo Vegan Gourmet Festival ( https://vegefes.com/ )
Got on the northbound Shonan-Shinjuku Line, decided I would get off in the town of Koga, Ibaraki, immediately found a good Mexican restaurant, walked across a huge floodplain designed to protect Tokyo, met a pheasant (?), got caught in a storm, ended up getting a ride to the nearest train station with the park staff.

@nocontexttrek Hoping that 2024 is the year you finally start quoting from these two great Star Trek series:

What can you even say about a company and corporate culture that tries to make you feel guilty about not enabling all of their tracking cookies by suggesting that trees won't get planted otherwise?

Just changed the filter out again. This one lasted only eleven days.

Ironically, these have to be thrown in the trash and incinerated.

I live in Tokyo, a city said to have reasonably clean air.

My apartment constantly pulls in outside air through a filter, circulates it through all of the rooms, and exhausts it out.

This is a very good thing (and legally mandated here)! It prevents mildew and buildup of questionable gases, and it gives me an opportunity to filter the air that I breathe.

This is what my filters look like after just two weeks of use at this time of year.

BTW, they're not washable.

Our air isn't clean enough.
