Almost the entire Black Sea Fleet is hiding in port while its occupied coasts are attacked.

Jon, good propechy there!

@anderspuck @Loukas @AndersGottlieb @VikingChieftain Hilarious (except for the human toll) if Russia by accident striked a Russian ship. In light of all the complicated shell company strutures, oligarchs owning companies all over it seems quite likely it could happen if they decide to attack.

The last ship I found to openly sail to Ukraine is by the way maybe Russian-affiliated. Marinetraffic lists RU managment, IMO not.

@AndersGottlieb @Loukas @anderspuck @VikingChieftain

While the true de facto ownership likely is more complicated (shell companies and so on) according to IMO it is managed by a Turkish entity.

IMO is as far as I know the authority on ships. https://gisis.imo.org/Public/SHIPS/ShipDetails.aspx?IMONumber=9019999

@anderspuck @Loukas @chowderman @VikingChieftain In relation to that we have the fact that NATO has been flying AWACS the last days in area. Hopefully the start of an end to airborne threats.

“Ams1 is entering Ukraine branch of Danube. She was the first ship to break Russia's Black Sea blockade after the July 25th Reni-bombing. Starting her trip Ashdod, Israel she openly advertised destination Ukraine as she traversed Black Sea on a straight course. Brave mariners”

@anderspuck As a professional analyst, what are your thoughts on the blockade breachers being a coordinated action?

All ships have Turkish management, all have conspicous or allied origin ports and in one case obfuscated origin (Sealock, IMO 8218380 ), all chose very defiant courses and very open AIS-practices.

“During night 3 civilian ships seem to have successfully challenged Russian threats to Black Sea navigation. Ams1, Sahin 2 & Yilmaz Kaptan sailed direct routes, openly advertising destination Ukraine over AIS. Their origins: Israel, Greece and Turkey/Georgia.”

@VikingChieftain @Loukas @anderspuck They are all with Turkish managment actually. Fitting!
And, since a few hours there are two more ships involved. Bluff has been called.
