@BigTittyBimbo I think it's two things. Personally I hold 0 world leaders as heroes, but he had the cajones to stand up the the US and he wanted to have a free Africa that wasn't dependent on western banking.

YoraObi-Wan's lie in the original #StarWars movies would really not have been so bad and infuriated millions of fans if he just apologized for the deception and explained why it was necessary, instead of insisting that he was telling the truth, from a certain point of view.
Nothing would have changed in the plot, but everyone's behavior about the situation would have been a lot more believable. It's always been the dialog writing that's been Star Wars' greatest weakness, even with all the gems.
