Iran built a vast camera network to control dissent. Israel used it to track targets, AP sources say

The role of Israel's hijacking of Iran’s street cameras in the killing of the country’s supreme leader underscores how surveillance systems are increasingly being targeted by adversaries in wartime.

Gen AI found the biz model.

step 1: subsidize code generation so everyone forgets how to read/write code manually

step 2: many shops fire software dev and IT folks who know how to write code to save money

step 3: now charge 10x to 50x to ensure the AI generated code by that most humans largely can't understand actually works and cause outages

step 4: announce new code fix service that even cost more to fix AI mess

this is like donuts & weight loss/dietitian biz working out of same office

These couple of days I have been helping OWASP arranging their summit in Oslo. Mainly by utilizing the hackerspace Hackeriet as a space for workshoping.

It feels really good to be able to help out, I have learned so much these days, and gotten to know so many awesome people.

I know this sounds cliche, but it is for a reason, I truly feel blessed that I am in a position to do this. And I must allow myself to be a bit proud. I helped start Hackeriet back in 2010, I've been a big part of building this place. It's been a journey. (ofc, it's not ALL me)

Thanks to all who have helped along the way. Thanks to OWASP for their longtime contributions to the security sphere and DAMN it feels good to be a hacker.

Today I heard the term "free as in puppy", as in it will involve some responsibility.
7zip is so incredibly supportive and nice when its done extracting... "Everything is Ok" it says.. Thank you 7zip, it dont always feel like it...

Here a small movie by the Norwegian Consumer Council inspired by @pluralistic

I remember people in my family talking about the internet when it was new. They laughed about the idea that someone would ever buy anything on that thing. And watching movies? Come on, images barely loaded before you had a chance to loose interest.

Today I see people skeptical to LLMs and other AI tech. It sucks! Can barely compete with a three-year old in some corner case tasks.

But I sure wish we learned how to secure the damn tech before it gained such a wide adoption. Oh well, a lot of work security in my future at least...
