Welcome to Vivaldi Social!
I was trimming my hair, thought I set the machine to 16mm... but it was 3mm.
Luckily just on the side, but it's not great 😅

Hello #CoffeeGang. I was having a discussion with my friend and fellow coffee drinker (@atle) about decaffinated coffee.

Personally I think it is a great option for those that cannot handle caffeine or want to consume less but enjoy the taste and experience of coffee. And there are some good speciality coffee decafs these days. But what do you think?

It's amazing how on Mastodon even with 1/10th of followers I get way more comments and meaningful interactions on my posts. I feel that no algorithms deciding who gets to see what really makes a difference.

So we have been taking a fairly laid back approach to the Fediverse thus far and have not posted too much but don't interpret that as us not being interested.

What we have seen so far we love!

The work that people like @Gargron and others before him have done (such as @cwebber with ActivityPub) is so, so important, both in terms of levelling the field (so that social media is not entirely controlled by large companies) and also in making a better and kinder again place to interact.

Some people think Mastodon is too weird to become popular:

I joined Twitter in 2008. We had to put a "d" in front of a tweet to convert it to a direct message and every other day you had some embarrassing private moments exposed because someone forgot about the “d”. Hashtags were just a community hack, introduced by Chris Messina to somehow tag content. Search? Hah, you wish! Tweets via SMS were supposed to be a thing. Oh, and the daily meet and greet with the failwhale. Totally not weird.

Question:
Of the applications you use daily on your desktop computer (or laptop), which one are you most happy with?

So, I'm a designer for the Vivaldi Browser (@vivaldibrowser)

Most of you who follow me I do not know.
