@autismsupsoc In the UK, the NHS is the major gatekeeper with diagnosis taking 2-3 years for adults, after doctors try to discourage getting a diagnosis. And I don't expect there is much help even after the diagnosis. Depressing. If only mental health was treated as a health issue rather than inconvenience.
@tompearce49 And when did scarlet fever return? I don't remember anyone getting it when I was young.
Studied some #astronomy #astrophysics, and want to get into #astrophotography. Making light curves of transiting #exoplanets would be my eventual aim. I have an old Nikon DSLR body, which could be used if appropriate. Any suggestions for #telescope, camera, mount, software etc? I'm aiming for the lower end of the price range, but not the absolute cheapest if a slightly more expensive one will be much better.

I bet you’ve heard of Galileo & Hubble, but what about Henrietta Swan Leavitt?

Leavitt changed astronomy. She figured out new ways to measure a star’s distance from Earth & her work helped determine the universe is expanding.

Her boss, Edward Pickering, published her findings UNDER HIS NAME. Later, Shapley used her findings to determine distances around the Milky Way w/o credit.

Leavitt’s work is still used today. Next time you hear about famous men in #science share her story. #HistoryRemix

@jknodlseder I didn't watch or follow the one in Russia either bec they invaded Ukraine, poisoned Litvinenko etc. Just not a fan of sports washing. Stopped watching GPs too.
