Replaced Disqus with Mastodon-powered comments on my Hugo blog. The idea clicked as soon as I read @getajobmike's post. One tootId in the frontmatter, a web component by @dpecos doing the fetching, and Disqus is gone. No tracking. No ads.

The benefits of getting involved in the #PHP community on social media are what built my career. Starting over again here was hard but all the friends I made over the years helped.

In this phase of the internet it is easy to get lost in a world of videos and “doing your own research.” Finding out who the people are in your programming community are driving things forward is way more rewarding.

I am still here after all these years but talking less about testing and more about other stuff I find interesting.
