The Computer History Museum, as great as it is, needs an update. So much has changed in the last 15 years and but the museum’s point of view stops at around 2010 (or earlier in places, see: The Internet, mobile devices). It seems hard to believe lack of money is why the curation is frozen at a point in time.
At the gift shop I was told one can’t buy their stuff online, but that “we’re working on it” and I honestly don’t know what to make of that given the subject matter.
AI boosters appear to be comfortably unmoored from reality and any sense of responsibility in communicating realistic capabilities of the tech. They don't lead with what it can actually do because then non-experts could judge based on results.
