I'm seeing this post making the rounds on social media in mockery, portraying those who use AI as people who would be better off if they were to just think using their own brains rather than use AI. But there is something else much more profound going on here...

Programmer Robert Pike used to keep a teddy bear outside of his office and students were required to talk to it about their issues before they could speak to a TA about them. Simply by going through the process of explaining their issues out loud to the bear, their conversations with it would cause the students to solve their issues without having to talk to a person approximately half the time.

I find this to be an extremely interesting aspect of the functioning of the brain. Prompt away!
