I'm a fifty-something therian/furry bear in the PNW who loves RPGs, technology, hiking, fantasy, horror, and sci-fi. No politics, please. Violators will be punished with long, rambling discussions about the Alien and Star Trek franchises. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβ™‚πŸ»πŸ––πŸ»

I think everything has been cut over from this account to @artair. That means it’s time to take the plunge and begin using my new instance. Look for me there, and thanks for the memories here. πŸ™‚

I've come to a decision: I'm moving to my own instance. Details to follow, but my new handle is:

Yesterday's Mastodon blow-up is giving me serious pause about my presence in the Fediverse. I've had reactions ranging from "maybe you should maintain a small instance just for yourself and close friends" to "this whole network is too flammable for you to participate in it."

I'm already seeing people on Reddit call for the defederation of tech.lgbt for... antisemitism?

What's the use of a social network where everyone constantly feels threatened and aggreived? Isn't that Twitter?

A group of Alehouse Drakes is a "revel," in the same way that a group of crows is a "murder."

Totally wish I'd known this for my last campaign. I would've worked the HELL out of a group of them. I only used one as a recurring character -- a sassy little fella named Kosmo who acted a lot like Buddy Cole on #KidsInTheHall. #KoboldPress #RPG

Consider that the purpose of #Mastodon may not be housing #Twitter refugees, but rather setting an alternative example for how social media communities should be engineered.

There are a number of public figures on Twitter that I would hate to see here, mostly because they're all about "brands," "identities," "marketing," and "grievance." None of that makes for a healthy and happy environment.

Today's moment of Zen: seeing a dude on a dirt bike lane-splitting traffic in an "Assholes Live Forever" hoodie.

Godspeed, you stupid bastard. πŸ˜†

@montecook @montecookgames @mcg One more question on the subject: would it be possible to get the official account verified to alleviate confusion? It's always easier to find these accounts on Mastodon when they've got a green bar in the profile. https://opensource.com/article/22/11/verified-mastodon-website

@montecook I hate to be a bother, but I had a quick question regarding MCG's presence on Mastodon. Which account is the "official" one I should follow: @montecookgames or @mcg? I thought it was the latter, but the former seems to be where all the current Backerkit announcements are appearing. Just want to make sure I'm citing the right account in my posts!
You can see the wisps of smoke around the Smoking Old Versace in this still.
