The Venn circle of "billionaires making pro-Trump choices at their businesses, lest he win" is fully heated within the one for "people who genuinely worry about Roko's Basilisk", right?

If you are upset about Jeff Bezos gagging the @washingtonpost don't cancel your subscription to the Post.

Rather, email [email protected] and tell him that you would like to cancel your Prime membership.

Your membership will be canceled within a few days, and you will be able to find different online retail stores that offer the same products for similar or even better prices.

Wait, Tom Wilson never had a Gordie Howe hat trick until last night? No way.

Why are so many women hiding their voting plans from their husbands?

A lot of households are not democracies; they’re dictatorships. This may mean voter intimidation and suppression.

During Canadian Federal Elections, poll workers have been known to direct husbands and wives to booths at opposing ends of the room, so as ensure spouses are not ‘monitored’ by each other. I have worked one once and was told by the husband “I just want to make sure she doesn’t make a mistake.” I told him that she was probably old enough to manage to make an ‘X’ on her own. She looked down as she smiled. He wandered off grumbling. I didn’t care how he reacted.

I need y'all to understand - my family was Republican. My grandmother worked for a Republican congressman most of her career. I grew up a (dumbass) libertarian. I'm a vet and a gun owner. We are ALL voting blue. This shit is insane.

I have Hashimoto's, and it has been a long time since I had a bad tachycardia episode. I am so extremely stressed right now over the US election that I got to spend a whole night this week with my damn legs up a wall in a hotel alone in order to not go to the ER and then show up for work on time. So that was cool.

This month has been worse than two decades of military service. I do crisis IR for a living. I knife fight and shoot competitively for fun. I do stress, for a living. That much in our country and global democracy is at stake, and I do not know how to get people outside Mastodon and the limited time I have to phone bank, to care.

This election is coming close to killing me.

Sometimes the problem with being an occasional-writer is that you'll have an idea like "hell stores faustian contracts on the blockchain" and you just have to write it, no matter if you think it'll be any good or not.
