Jesus-fucking-Christ. This article is geeky but *extremely* scary: https://thedreydossier.substack.com/p/i-found-a-second-votegov-and-its

tl;dr -- remember #DOGE? The regime, specifically and largely the people behind DOGE (not the Muskrat, but a lot of the other players) are quietly subverting a *lot* of government websites, spying on what you do, and funneling the traffic into what appears to be a privately-owned server.

This includes what appears to be preparations to steal vote.gov.

Not a short article, but worth reading and passing along. The details are by no means clear, but this appears to be carrying the #surveillance state to new heights, and breaking a *ton* of laws along the way.

I found a second vote.gov — and it's registered to the White House

There is a moment in every investigation where the thing you have been looking for finds you instead.

@ai6yr @mattblaze if a movie had a CIA official taking gold out of an office safe to, for example, bribe an official of a foreign government, or a corrupt CIA official saying it was for that and embezzling it because sometimes oversight is lax and you don't keep an auditable paper trail of that sort of thing (and movie), I wouldn't question it. But "for work-related expenses"?

Statement from the leader of #Brighton & #Hove Council

“The Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) guidance published last week creates confusion and concern, impacting the rights and dignity of trans people…. This guidance must be withdrawn and parliament must urgently act and legislate to clarify that trans people have the right to participate in everyday life in an inclusive way.”

For the ones who did not see this.
Palantir CEO Karp, people.

"The technology disrupts humanities-trained, highly educated, often female voters who vote mostly Democrat, and lessens their economic power.
It increases the economic power of vocationally trained, working-class, often male, working-class voters.
The disruptions will affect every aspect of society. To make this work we need to agree on how to explain to people they will have less good, interesting jobs."

Palantir CEO Makes Shocking Confession on Disrupting Democratic Power

They’re saying the quiet part out loud now.

Trump’s recent deal with the Internal Revenue Service was by far the most flagrant act of corruption yet
– perhaps in US presidential history.

First, he sued the agency for $10bn for its alleged negligence in guarding his and his companies’ tax returns from being leaked to the press.
Then he dropped the suit in return for a $1.776bn slush fund to repay his friends, possibly including the January 6 insurrectionists, for the suffering inflicted by their criminal penalties.

And, like a mafia enforcer shooting his victim in the knees after extracting the cash, Trump took a little more.
A memo from Todd Blanche, his former personal lawyer and the acting attorney general, waives all pending liabilities incurred by his client,
including $100m in potential tax penalties,
and bars all future actions against Trump or his companies by the IRS
“or other agencies or departments”.

In 2024, the supreme court granted the president “presumptive immunity” from criminal prosecution for actions taken as part of his executive duties while in office.
Anna Bower and Eric Columbus, of Lawfare, suggest that this agreement could give him immunity from everything else, forever.

Impunity breeds popular cynicism, and cynicism undergirds autocracy

This goes hand in hand with the administration's many other attempts to keep people in the dark,
including its new proposed government wide NDA system.

They want full license to enrich themselves and abuse others without the rest of us knowing about it.

Just insane. New Jersey Gov Mikie Sherrill says DHS just denied state health inspectors full access to Delaney Hall. She's calling for it to be shut down.

Paramount+ created a thumbnail for "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" where it genAI-filled a closeup shot of Shatner, giving him a sensible haircut and a suit and tie.
