A surge in new datacenters, each with the power demand of 100,000 households and a cooling water demand of 1,000,000 m³ per year to train AI models on material obtained without consent on hardware now unaffordable to consumers so fascism-adjacent tech billionaires can sell us the idea that any skill is now worthless and in doing so creating the largest economic bubble ever while simultaneously destroying society and environment.
I think that about sums it up.
And that leaves France with ZERO international night trains. None. Aucun.

Americans are getting ripped off.
In Austria, an *annual* pass that gives you access to all transit and intercity trains is just $1,340. Total mobility, for $110 a month. Similar passes exist in #Germany + #Switzerland.
Das ganze Konzept "Autoverkehr" wäre im industriellen Umfeld nicht zulässig.
Probier mal eine Betriebserlaubnis für folgende Fabrik zu bekommen:
- Hier fahren tonnenschwere, menschengelenkte Werkstückträger rum, mit frei wählbarer Geschwindigkeit
- Die Fahrer*innen haben vor etlichen Jahren eine Prüfung gemacht, weitere Schulungen oder Checks existieren nicht.
- Hier laufen auch Kinder, Senioren, Betrunkene und Haustiere frei rum
- Alle teilen sich die Flächen
- Ab und zu stirbt leider jemand
