writing and being terrified ~ #AttackOnTitan, #Umineko #WhenTheyCry, #manga and #anime, fun stuff; fandom-wise I mainly write fanfic and make soft crafts.

CRUNCHYROLL ADDED "SKIP INTRO", THIS IS NOT A DRILL, CRUNCHYROLL ADDED "SKIP INTRO"

How has it taken them this long though?

And I don’t even really like the high/epic fantasy sub genre 😭😭😭

I don’t know how they thought they could release the first episode of #Frieren
as a 2-hours package

I already cried three times and I’m only halfway through 🥺

In the end I just found it a bit anticlimactic, not just the last two chapters but also the whole arc after Nao becomes head of Kogetsuan instead of Tsubaki; it was a bit of a forced step narratively to get to the end, but it didn’t do any good to Nao (not as a person; as a character: that was not what she needed for development, nor to reach self actualization).
In general the series was enjoyable and very bingeable and the romance was hot (in the first part) but no more than that. The focus on wagashi made me very curious about them though.
I haven’t had much time to catch up with series in the past month but last week I bought and read the last volume of Something’s Wrong With Us by Natsumi Ando. I enjoyed it just fine, but I guess that bingeing the first 15 volumes and then reading the 16th the month after could not work well for this series and for me

So my first attempt at a "group"watch here wasn't the most successful, but hopefully this second try is (mainly by choosing a show people are familiar with).

Next week, I'll be starting a groupwatch of #GirlsLastTour. For the unfamiliar, Girls Last Tour is a 2017 sci-fi slice-of-life that follows two young women, Chito and Yuuri, as they navigate a post-apocalyptic landscape, some of the few people left alive. The series is equally funny, heartrending, and heartwarming, as it shows how lonely such a situation can be and how lucky it is to have someone right by your side.

@otakureview millennial here so I cannot really say, but I do enjoy them. Now I’m too wondering about gen z…

@gunbuster oh, I get that the premise is not immediate and may shock the reader (there’s a reason the anime did all of that in one episode).

Slice of life it is not (do you read spy X family? That’s slice of life with action/spy shenanigans), but both the “revenge” and the “unknown father” parts are devices to explore two rather dark topics in a dynamic way; the construction of this story is pretty good! Still, I get it that it’s not for everyone.

@NieA_78 thank you! I usually do the GIPHY capture part in iMovie (being on a Mac as well) but that takes certainly longer and I need to have the materials downloaded to transform. Keynote is also very good for making videos to turn into gif, but I still wish I knew better ways. Video editing is such a great skill to have 😩
@Bard thank you! Monster is the first work by Naoki Urusawa that I experience, but I find the way he weaves and constructs the narrative so engaging and masterful that once I’m finished with it, I’ll want to check out his other works for sure. Every new episode I watch I’m in awe.
