I’m a tech enthusiast who has been using  products since the late 80's. Although I started my career as a technical photographer, I am now providing 1:1 support for regular people, photographers & small business owners who need help with their tech needs.

What I enjoy most about my work is the opportunity to help people become more technologically literate & to simplify their digital lives.

I’ve lots of experience & knowledge to share & keen to help others navigate the digital landscape…

@gruber waddyamean nothing happened in August

@gruber what do you think if Apple were to allow twin watch faces.

Face 1 - a dress face
Face 2 - a utility face

Face 2 would be activated by the finger tap gesture

My reasoning is.

I prefer the look of a beautiful face for always on/glancing at the time.

I miss complications.

The widget stack is not very useful.

@gruber on the subject of magnanimity, do you remember that time period when Apple would give away 15%, 20% and even 30% on Apple gift cards?

I would buy a thousand dollars worth at once and saved a fortune over the years.
I assume every developer whose app I purchased in that period still receive their full percentage.

Accidentally discovered this terrific text selection shortcut just now.
(tap release tap drag)

When did they add this?

If Apple genuinely care about the environment they will virtualise macOS on iPad so that we can buy an iPad and do without a Mac altogether.

Apple won’t let go of the revenue from selling multiple devices to individuals like yourselves, so virtualised macOS will require a monthly fee (yay services).
It would be free for two years upon purchase of an actual Mac or with Apple One.

Thoughts?

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters, working with federal and state personnel, is getting the Port of Baltimore up and running – with limited access beginning at the end of April and a full reopening expected by the end of May.

Baltimore, you can count on my Administration to keep this momentum going.

perhaps I’m wrong, but whenever you say 8K and 2x in the same sentence it gives me a little eye twitch.

To my mind, 8K is 4x

2x would be 5.6K, no?

@ismh @imyke

Apple must be very happy with Magic Mouse 2.
Soon it will be the longest serving Apple Mouse.

Do you think we can expect Magic Mouse 2.x with only a minor port change or a fresh Magic Mouse 3

Surely, even if it’s totally new, the port will again be on the underside and will continue the tradition of it not being useable while charging.

Haters will have conniptions, but why would Apple do anything else?

🤣

Buy the headset for goodness sake.

Make a plan to reevaluate ownership after 3 to 6 months when you will likely be able to sell it for nearly as much as you paid or maybe more than you paid.

consider it a rental.

referencing “project Hollywood“ I’m so pleased to hear that Myke is finally turning around and facing away from the wall.

We all should do this, it’s much better ergonomically and I think better for mental health.

I wanted to say, Myke, please consider what is behind the camera (your view) as equally important or more important compared to the audience view of what’s behind you.

Perhaps the project should instead be as “project command position“
