Tuberville says our military is "woke", but he's trying to put the military to sleep. What a maroon.

It’s interesting to see how the GOP ‘victory’ of removing women’s healthcare rights has led to their serial defeats in recent elections.

The sheer audacity of Thomas’s years-long trickle down crime spree will stain the Roberts Court forever. Ironically, the court of final appeal regarding Constitutional matters has completely misinterpreted their Constitutional remit. Actively resisting a code of ethics is not a good look, but understandable given what has come out.

Clarence Thomas’s RV loan was forgiven, Senate committee report says https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/10/25/clarence-thomas-rv-loan-forgive/

Clarence Thomas’s RV loan was forgiven, Senate committee report says

Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) called on Justice Clarence Thomas to say whether he declared the forgiven loan on his tax filings.

The Washington Post

Guess I have to repeat this:

When we get good news (legal, Israel/Hamas, whatever), can we take just 2 measly minutes to appreciate it before blasting it to smithereens and whining about how the good news is really bad news?

People are beginning to sound like the NYT "Blame Biden" headlines every time he has a win.

For your own mental health, accept the wins. Push harder for more, but FFS, good news is rare. Embrace it.

OR, just don't toot me with the whining. I'm trying to stay sane here.

@pollute_my_lungs The point we're trying to make here isn't that religion makes someone a better person. but in a state as Christian as Texas, if you're baptizing prisoners, offering them spiritual classes as a path to rehabilitation, and telling them it makes them a "new man," it seems hypocritical not to consider any of that when it comes time to consider whether to execute them or not. They don't seem to believe the stories they tell themselves here.
So let me get this straight. Jim Jordan wants to be Speaker, but he doesn’t nearly have the votes, so he’s going ahead anyway counting on his allies to bully and harass his opponents into submission by inundating them with MAGA extremist calls to their offices, with the help of Sean Hannity on Fox? If I were a holdout, this would make me dig in even further, but then again I don’t know what it’s like to be a Republican without a spine.

HISTORICAL JUSTICE AND MEMORY NETWORK – A platform devoted to historical dialogue, historical and transitional justice, and public and social memory

@ZhiZhu @Teri_Kanefield

welp, now that late-night comedians are back I'm brick-to-the-faced to that particular 'why'

GOP aligned folks whine about it on every platform available, blasted everywhere from radio, to local TV media, to national TV media, to podcasts, social media... etc.

like any lie, anything told enough times from enough sources has a chance of being believed, and the GOP's multi-faceted information distribution network is incredibly effective

I posted this on the deadbird site:

"Standing offer for journalists: I'll help you get set up on Mastodon and will help you bring your Twitter audience along (and find new followers and rich engagement there). All I ask is that you migrate -- over time, not instantly -- your social media activity there."
