Twitter's userbase is shifting to a crowd that believes basic respect is too much to ask. Staying on Twitter goes against the stated goal of supporting "good people being oppressed, censored, and harassed anywhere!"

As for unencrypted DMs, Elon Musk can have fun implementing E2EE without his privacy & security teams. Should be interesting.

Twitter is failing spectacularly. Top privacy & security execs are quitting. Blue checks have become entirely useless. Elon Musk is talking about likely bankruptcy. The FTC is even currently investigating Twitter.

We think it's clear at this point that Twitter isn't where we want to be to reach users. Not anymore.

Kaspersky is leaving the Russian VPN market. People who use Kaspersky in Russia will have to find alternatives. This is related to Russia banning 15 VPNs for refusing to allow government censorship and surveillance targetting VPN users.
