I have a question for the #genomics community: when referring to a gene with orthologs in many different species (each with their own nomenclature conventions), what symbol do you use? I'm guessing you default to human (i.e. all caps, italicized). But I'm wondering if there's a formalism here. Really trying not to switch case, too.
Congrats to Rachel for successfully defending her PhD today!
