I'm happy to see
#monero almost back in the top 10. I'm sure people that otherwise wouldn't will discover it because of that and then be amazed with its tech characteristics and its community goals. At least that's what happened to me.

We released v4.2.0 'Gitian' in the play store alpha for the brave ones. The only change is now using #monero 0.18.4.2. Please report back any issues before it hits everybody else, that's what you signed up for the alpha damnit!

On September 14, 2025, a malicious mining pool successfully performed an 18-block “blockchain reorganization” of the Monero blockchain. Qubic, the mining pool, used its mining hashpower to generate an alternative blockchain history and replaced about 70 minutes of the honest chain’s most recent history. The main effect of the reorganization (“reorg” for short) was the invalidation of 115 transactions that had been included in the original honest chain. The coins in the transactions that were invalidated did not disappear.
