Learn how QR codes work, and how to read them without a computer!

@piko and I just released the interactive explainer that we used in our workshop at #37c3!

Reading QR codes without a computer!

Just got a dedicated account for my streams: @pizzatorque follow if you want to see Emacs config stuff, packages and programming in general.

I've been a fan of Eglot since before it was the official #Emacs LSP package. It's fast, intuitive and plays nicely with all of the editor features.

It has also unveiled how tricky #Java is to get set-up with both good LSP and DAP functionality.

I decided to dig in and write some stuff to make the convenience happen. This is kinda re-inventing the `lsp-mode` wheel with half the bloat.

I got the LSP working well but the dap launch options aren't there yet.

@mwshook good luck, hope everything goes fine for you
@mwshook when I was a serious chewing gum chewer that muscle at the corner of the jaw was very visible, I should probably get some gums...
One of the cool features built into #emacs is narrowing. If you have a file with many lines, but you only need to work on a single function or portion of the file, you can select the region you want to work on and have only that in the buffer, you can still save and commit your changes while narrowing down.

#Emacs nano-vertico is a minor mode that takes advantage of vertico-buffer mode to display the minibuffer in a regular buffer and uses the header line to display the minibuffer prompt and content. It is made with a lot of hacks and may not be ready fo daily use but it was fun to write. Sources at https://github.com/rougier/nano-vertico

@pymander when I lived in Portland I found it a beautiful mix of modern and old, from someone who grew up in rural Italy, it had things in common somehow with the city near where I grew up. The only downside I ever saw was the staggering homeless population and the fact that you were not ever really "safe" downtown. But the areas around the convention center, lloyd district and irvington were so nice.
@ninavizz @carnage4life We went camping in LaPine some years ago and we were surprised by all the rules and warnings at the campsite, having lived in urban areas in Europe we never heard coyotes in our whole lives or never had to take precautions to avoid attracting bears
