Is someone you love trying to learn R? Why not make them a incentivized R mini-goals sheet to help? Here’s mine for a much-loved goddaughter/cousin/friend starting her #PhD in the social sciences who needs some #rstats skills! ❤️❤️ Merry Christmas to all from Amy and the StatDivLab

This paper by @TWilmanski @thaasophobia @nrappapo @gibbological and others, published in @MedCellPress in May, is one of the journal's most-accessed articles in 2022, and is now freely accessible. @CellPressNews https://buff.ly/3sv9Aiw

Crowdsourcing help with an interdisciplinary research challenge – hoping to submit (awesome!) methods paper to statistics journal. Statisticians call phenomenon X. Target audience for method is microbiome scientists, who call phenomenon Y. What should we call it throughout paper?

I loathe that I have to worry about this, but with stat reviewers so pedantic and peer review taking so long, I'm leaning towards calling it X. Ergh.

Thoughts?

Really looking forward to presenting at #MVIF 14 tonight. A free, virtual monthly #microbiome research seminar, with two time slots for increased global participation!

I'll be presenting on "Model Misspecification in Microbiome Studies" -- talking about unequal taxon-specific detection, implications, corrections, and future work!

Hope to see you there!
