Had a phone interview for a job today. It's a help desk manager type thing. Remote.
I asked, "do you use keystroke loggers, screen cappers, and other surveillance technology?"
Confused muttering. Finally from someone on the call, "yes."
Me. "are these always on? I see you don't provide PCs. Are you expecting me to put these things on my own PC? Can they be turned off when I am not on duty?"
Them: always on
Me: "wow"
Them: no one else has asked this question.
Me: YIKES
pros of staying in bed until 10.30:

i want to read more. fedi friends, what are your suggestions for books? fiction and non-fiction are both fine, as long as they’re entertaining. ideally i’d prefer nothing too dry, dark or YA-esque.
previously, i’ve enjoyed works from mitch albom, bill bryson, douglas hofstadter and douglas adams, as well as:
- lingo by gaston dorren
- ra by qntm
- the three-body problem by cixin liu
- the day of the triffids by john wyndham
Dad jokes are not just for dads
They’re also for other types of groan men
