Let's remind ourselves that the only reason that people are forced to choose between their existing @[email protected] network and account, and starting on #mastodon is because there are no rules compelling these products to talk to each other.
The EU ducked this just a few months ago.
When I started this account, I wanted to find a different way of being on social media. More thoughtful, less angry, more measured and seasoned and open… I don’t seem to be doing that. I’m not sure I can do it. I’m pretty sure I won’t do it like this.
Putting this account on hiatus, with the intention of migrating, eventually, elsewhere on mastodon/fedivesrse. I’ll let you know, but it won’t be anytime soon.

so 65% of about 250 said they don't care about exclusive perks when they are a subscriber or patron to an artist or project. many comments highlighted the desire to 'just support', help artist do their thing. some are even actively looking for ways to not receive extra exclusives in order to not make artist work more just for that.
i think that's quite interesting.

Looking for alternatives to Groups.io as they no longer have a free tier that includes discussion email list, calendaring, and polls. They are worth the price of premium but $20/mo is a bit much for a very small (5 members) book club.
Prefer to not use G**gle Groups or other services with potential privacy concerns.
