Dear Thought Leaders,

When you are commenting, opining, even pontificating on a topic you do *not* need to quote yourself. You can just say the thing. You especially do not need to make an image quoting yourself to attach to the message you’re already posting about the thing.

Thanks!

Come manage me and my teammates on the 1Password Solutions Architect team! It’s a small, tight-knit team that I know you’ll love to lead, at a company with great corporate culture and work/life balance! https://jobs.lever.co/1password/37146a07-5bd5-4814-8ed9-7bccf46c48a1
1Password - Manager, Solutions Architect

The 1Password Solutions Architect team is a valuable resource to our customers looking to deploy our most technical solutions. A typical solutions architect customer engagement might include working with various customer stakeholders to deploy our SCIM bridge, roll out Passage or Events API, or even identify and develop custom scripts using our CLI coupled with Python. As Manager, Solutions Architects, you’ll report to the Senior Manager, Solutions and Technical Writing and support a team of exceptional individuals who are natural tinkerers and builders of solutions. An ideal candidate would foster, enable, and share their curiosity. You’ll be responsible for building programs around new features and products, developing and refining processes alongside our Solutions Engineering team, and guiding the team into the next evolution of solutions architecture and adding to, and improving the services offered at 1Password.

Just got reminded that apparently I played Frodo in a work Christmas party video like 25 years ago or something 😆

COVID is not the flu. This thing can and will ruin your life. Yes, still.

Over 18 months of follow-up, compared to seasonal influenza, the COVID-19 group had an increased risk of death (hazard ratio [HR] 1·51 [95% CI 1·45–1·58]), corresponding to an excess death rate of 8·62 (95% CI 7·55–9·44) per 100 persons in the COVID-19 group versus the influenza group. Comparative analyses of 94 prespecified health outcomes showed that COVID-19 had an increased risk of 68·1% (64 of 94) pre-specified health outcomes; seasonal influenza was associated with an increased risk of 6·4% (six of 94) pre-specified health outcomes, including three out of four pre-specified pulmonary outcomes.

Virtual class of security folks learning about threat classification, defining abuse cases and evil user stories, and thinking about mitigations are going to watch me dump my Introvert Battery in real time later this morning.

Mstdn deserves more attention, those other places are essentially only echo-chambers and rage farms now.

Anyway… Love that feeling of the year (as far as $dayjob is concerned) winding down. Helping some teams level-up their threat modeling this week. On Friday I’m teaching a session on threat classification and adopting an attacker’s mindset to build “abuse cases” and “evil user stories”. Fun last day before dropping a smoke bomb and disappearing for the rest of the year 🤘🏻

Commissioned by a friend. IYKYK.
Seems like there is a Mastodon influx, perhaps related to Twitter’s masterclass on how to tank a service.
