The horror of the attack on Israel by Hamas and the humanitarian crisis unfolding before us must be our immediate focus.

But @LaylaMoran and I call for the international community not to lose the determination for a 2 state solution and to strive for peace.

We are Westminster MPs of Palestinian and Israeli descent – this is our call for peace

We are deeply concerned by the lack of nuance in this debate. Both Israelis and Palestinians have been failed, say MPs Layla Moran and Alex Sobel

At Auschwitz we see the end of the process. The Holocaust did not start from gas chambers. It gradually developed from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence.

74 years ago UN accepted the "Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide". It was drafted by a lawyer of Polish-Jewish descent Rafał Lemkin.

The Labour Defra team at #COP15 had a crucial briefing on the state of play of negotiations with @RSPB and where the UK where in terms of both negotiations and international commitments.

It was a real insight for Ruth Jones and I

Really pleased with my Woodhouse Moor Park Run today pretty sure it was a PB for Park Run. Definitely sub 25!!

I want to hear about the mysterious disapperance of your bus.

There have been strange reports everywhere of buses appearing on the app or on electronic displays but not appearing in real life.

Help us explain this phenomenon by logging your ghost bus here: https://alexsobel.co.uk/ghostbus-submit-your-ghostbus/

@alexsobel - ahead of Cop15, he says the government will not meet its already 'embarrassingly poor' nature targets by 2030. Wildlife Trusts & National Trusts agree. ALSO there's a bit of detail on Labour's nature policy in there... https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/nov/28/tories-embarrassingly-poor-nature-targets-2030-labour-says
Tories will not reach ‘embarrassingly poor’ nature targets by 2030, Labour says

Opposition to unveil plan to reverse biodiversity loss rather than simply halting it, which is government’s current target

Excellent to see both a #COP15 and an environment supplement in Saturday’s @guardian.

Well done to @Horton_official and colleagues.

Invaluable for us developing nature policy and attending COP15. We need this level of environmental reporting!

It was a pleasure to speak at the launch of the CPRE new hedgerow exhibition in Parliament.

Unfortunately, the UK is one of the most severely nature-depleted countries worldwide. Going forward, we need to focus on hedgerows which are preserved, utilised and renewed.

As we countdown to #COP15, we’ve released a report on how the UK’s leaders need to translate global promises into a decade of action for nature 🌍🌿

We need to halt and reverse the loss of nature globally, and here in the UK.

Our report shares the actions needed across key themes such as species recovery, food & farming and finance. And shows our vision of what success looks like, what actions are needed and where we are now.

RSPB | Seven steps to save nature by 2030

Wildlife is in crisis, but it’s not too late to for our leaders to turn their promises into actions. We need the people in power to speak up for our vulnerable species and places - and with less than 100 days until COP15 – now is the time.
