Beat-em-ups finished today: X-Men (the 1992 Konami one, just me) and Marvel Cosmic Invasion (me as Wolverine + misc, mini-me as Rocket/Storm)

Cosmic Invasion is really fun if you haven't played it! Lovely pixel art and fun combat systems, including pretty rich combo possibilities and tagging. If you like TMNT: Shredder's Revenge and Mahvel characters, highly recommend.
Got the MARVEL MaXimum Collection!! I'm pretty much the target audience for this. I had set up MAME to play the Konami X-Men arcade game before, but having it right there in Steam with a bunch of other games is lovely -- and you can pick the 2- or 4- or 6-player variants, and it looks great! When you do the 6-player version, it's a double-wide screen, which is cool because you have mobility options that can zoom you really far (Wolverine can do a long-distance slashing lunch from the top of a high jump arc, for example), and you can make great use of the horizontal area. As I recall, the 6-player cabinet had two 4:3 CRTs on it...

I have fond memories of the Captain America and the Avengers arcade game too -- I remember being at a few smaller kids birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese, and that was the best game they had there amongst all the redemption-game nonsense (ski ball is still cool tho)...
Look, I'm not particularly a Guilty Gear person, but I think Jam should give the bunny some baos.
tfw I know you're gonna mash
just hit a streamer with db4 into knowing they were gonna mash into trade CH df2 into the full ewgf pickup for the big combo live on their stream do you understand what you're dealing with

Just a great article. Thanks so much @pattheflip !

"The fact is that fighting games are very cool, and a lot of people want to like them, but do not have it in them to actually play the games seriously themselves, and so they instead choose to make “talking about fighting games” their hobby. They find themselves drawn to the activity, but do not want to or cannot go through the parts of the activity that are the most exposed to personal vulnerability — the parts that create a sense of mutual trust and respect between players across different fighting games, by the way — so they instead engage with fighting games as sports entertainment."
Kazuya Mishima.
Oh my glob that's a fantastic idea! Electric type plus glitch type! ... I have never heard of this until now and I dunno how to pronounce that but I sincerely appreciate this suggestion.
