am I *truly* the world's 470th greatest Kazuya player??
(... that feels... maybe generous? I dunno, maybe that's about plausible? ... I bet I'm in the top thousand? ...)
Kazuya Mishima.
(back to GoD in Season 3! got there pretty quick. maybe I can go higher? ...)
I've heard people throwing around the idea that Tekken 8 S3 has inflated the ranks a bit, and that's at least consistent with the observations that almost nobody hit higher than GoD4 in the previous season, but some folks are further already now, and I'm seeing a bunch of players at GoD2 already.
(I haven't been playing all that much ranked, but I'm at TGS and haven't hit much resistance yet, so maybe the folks who are a threat to me are already a bit further along. GoD0 soon? Maybe I'll keep going this season and try to get further into the GoD ranks? ...)
Congrats! Also, may your sexy times be pleasant, with the appropriate sexy person(s) you desire!
Kazuya Mishima is the most badass character ever created. It's almost unbelievable that such a badass character even exists.
fighting game event where for each match, you random select into a game that features Akuma and play the mirror in that game, ft3. Maybe it's 3S, maybe it's Super Gem Fighter Minimix, maybe it's Tekken 7.
MESSATSU.
Almost back to where we were before the S3 rank reset! One more and that's God of Destruction again. Surely, surely they didn't rebrand to be the "alexr cannot get God of Destruction a second time now that it's Season 3" community.
They tweaked ranks a bit -- it pulls up your sub characters more than before, so all my subs are now at Emperor. That might be better? A stronger player on an unfamiliar character fighting somebody who's on their main and in blue ranks feels pretty lopsided; so much of your defense transfers irrespective which character you're playing.
Beat-em-ups finished today: X-Men (the 1992 Konami one, just me) and Marvel Cosmic Invasion (me as Wolverine + misc, mini-me as Rocket/Storm)
Cosmic Invasion is really fun if you haven't played it! Lovely pixel art and fun combat systems, including pretty rich combo possibilities and tagging. If you like TMNT: Shredder's Revenge and Mahvel characters, highly recommend.
Got the MARVEL MaXimum Collection!! I'm pretty much the target audience for this. I had set up MAME to play the Konami X-Men arcade game before, but having it right there in Steam with a bunch of other games is lovely -- and you can pick the 2- or 4- or 6-player variants, and it looks great! When you do the 6-player version, it's a double-wide screen, which is cool because you have mobility options that can zoom you really far (Wolverine can do a long-distance slashing lunch from the top of a high jump arc, for example), and you can make great use of the horizontal area. As I recall, the 6-player cabinet had two 4:3 CRTs on it...
I have fond memories of the Captain America and the Avengers arcade game too -- I remember being at a few smaller kids birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese, and that was the best game they had there amongst all the redemption-game nonsense (ski ball is still cool tho)...
