RE: https://mastodon.social/@webology/116262994510849392

I'm alone with a frenchie, please come rescue me

@webology @andreagrandi @bmispelon
Yeah, we host on Google Meet instead of zoom, but the concept is the same. I'll send you the gist now

Since @webology has gone mad with March, I'm hosting Shitposting Office hours tonight. Message me or @bmispelon for a link to the gist with the details.

SPWG

Exact time now, time zone, time difference, sunrise/sunset time and key facts for New York, United States.

@webology I'm happy to host on Friday for those unaffected by the madness.
@felixxm Does your heart run on Python now?

I know that bad news is coming when a co-worker messages me with "You're gonna be so mad..."

Grammarly has rolled out an AI-powered "expert review" feature where its simulacrum of me makes suggestions for your text. My real edits are usually along the lines of "Throw this into the sea."

@carlton I think things like these are done this way because it's hard to know where to set the bar and which areas may be okay.

If, let's say, 80% is at risk, it's easier to close everything than trying to get local government to decide, which may not have the same level of information the regional one has.

Yesterday was already bad with the wind but today will be worse.

Apparently there has been more than 1300 calls to the emergency number, no people hurt, thankfully.

As a bonus, while writing this I lost electricity for 1-2 minutes.

Schools, universities and non-urgent healthcare to close Thursday amid 100km/h winds

Authorities ask people to avoid travel and recommend working from home

Nothing like a night with 100km/h gusts of wind to make sleeping easy
(There's a reason I'm posting this at 7am)
