@Stephenkinsella@katiechapman it is possible that a split may happen. Maybe someone will set up #Munsterdon or something. There very well could be a viable GAA community to be started.
@Stephenkinsella@katiechapman I would imagine that is the first month up front of an extravagant amount of server power, yes. Seems fine on 10k users with a stream of signups, no idea where it would top out, but more users is more crowdfunders. People *will* pay to be the customer rather than the product.
@andrewstroehlein Mastodon has several processes, one of which is called sidekiq and that processes a queue of tasks that don't have to be done instantly - your verification request goes into that queue when you save your profile. It might take a little while and if it doesn't happen the process might not be running.
