It's a little weird. We spend $120/mo to run https://airwaves.social but then we're not posting on Airwaves Social regularly?
Pretty freaking dumb.
Time to change that.
Airwaves Social users:
Storage costs on Masto.Host are quite high. It has surpassed our budget, & is now nearly 10x the cost of when we were running our own instance. We are using 1TB of storage & S3-like is not a feature available on masto.host.
This is because of bot users that post alerts of Ships/Flights with attachments.
We are bot friendly, but we do encourage all bot owners to set their accounts to delete posts older than 30 days, as relevancy of automated content goes down quickly.
