Update: I've decided that everyone on Threads is figuring out how to optimise for engagement, essentially writing great clickbait. Threads does a great job of pushing them more eyes, and the cycle continues. I'm over it and have deleted the app. Never did anything with my account.

the german word for the fomo you feel when there are so many projects and online communities you want to be a part of, but you aren't because of the even bigger fomo you feel spending even a second apart from your young family

Meta is doing a great job of making me feel like that's where all the action is. I don't get enough from mastodon which is probably my fault, X feels dead and I'm constantly hearing from the same 12 people... Threads, however, buzzes.
