European public institutions are betting big on digital sovereignty and open source software. And yet they recently moved their Bluesky accounts to W Social, a private, for profit network owned by Swedish entrepreneurs that has quietly gone closed-source.

Suppose Anthropic has to provide to the US government a list of individual people who will have (or have had!) access to Mythos. Suppose providing proof of US citizenship of individual staff to Anthropic becomes a contract requirement.
I'm certain the US gov would love that data. Making non-citizens' life harder and disincentivizing companies to employ them is a goal.
I wish I believed companies would refuse to play that game. Alas.
